What is this world coming to...............

Hi. Have not posted in quite some time but I could not hold this back any longer. I usually don't do things like this but felt I had to get it off my chest.

Having been born in 1941 I have seen my share of changes in technology, the world and governments. Right now I have to say that our government (USA) is about as broken as I can remember. Nobody seems to be working in our government the way our founding fathers envisioned. I read or heard a while ago some terrorist said that the best weapon against the free world is to disrupt their financial systems. Well look around folks it is happening. And I got to think that maybe we have a sleeper cell in our government all the way up to the White House. In my opinion Obama has disgraced the office of the President.

Please get out an vote this coming election and get rid of the idiots who are supposed to be running this country and I mean democrats, republicans and independents.

Oh, Oh, there's knock at my door. Must be the secret police.

Have a happy holiday what ever your beliefs and let's all work to get back our country.

Northwest Iowa

A week ago my friend the Rich ( the Iowa Farm Boy ) and I took off for three days in Northwest Iowa to do some photo shootin'. I think as much as taking pictures the trip gave us a chance to get away from the rest of the world for a while. We were trying to find some old barber shops and diners as well as fall colors and old barns. Traveling through the small towns we became very aware of just how bad the economy has gotten. We only found two barber shops. One was in a house and the other I would not send my dogs to. As for diners, of the two towns that were closest to where we were staying, we only found one diner and it was in a gas station. If you would like to see some of my pictures from the trip click here.

Zombie Walk

Last Saturday was the annual Zombie Walk in the Benson area of Omaha. This event has grown and is a fundraising event for the Sienna House for the homeless. I have posted some photos on my site to show some of the creative creatures. Click here.

The Rest of the POW WOW

I finally finished processing the rest of the pictures (at least the ones I think are pretty good) from last Saturday's Omaha Indian POW WOW. The costumes and dancing were incredible. I wish I knew more about what the various feathers, designs etc. meant. If you ever get a chance to go to one of these do so. But be warned that some of the POW WOW's do not permit photos. This one did except for one particular part of the ceremony and as far as I could tell everyone obeyed. Here is a link to the pictures.

Pow Wow

Went to the Indian Pow Wow at Fort Omaha this weekend. I have been to these before and I decided to concentrate on the colorful costumes, kids and interesting faces. Here are three of the kids that I thought were unique. Some of them really got into the dances. The little boy in blue is four years old. His dancing was so wild that he often lost his balance and almost fell over. But no fear. He just incorporated it into his dance.

And The Rest From Westpoint...............

These images are just some from the car show that I thought were a little different (and we all know that I am a little different). Anyhow, please enjoy them. I will be posting them soon on my other site at http://prill.zenfolio.com/ .

When you go to a colorful car show you have to dress colorfully.

Please somebody dunk her.....................

Some Hot Rods..... and bike

There were so many cars at the Westpoint car show and after attending quite a few cars shows this year, I tried to pick out some vehicles that were different for me. I processed them with lightroom and photoshop using some of my magic and blurred the backgrounds so that the cars stood out more. Hope you enjoy them.

This next one was for sale. They were asking for $22,000 or best offer. rich and I decided to poole our money to buy it but the guy wouldn't take $40.00. Go figure.

Start Your Engines

Yesterday my friend Rich and I went up to Westpoint Nebraska for a car show. This is called "The Last fling Till Spring". It is a huge show that limits the entries to 750 vehicles. I say vehicles because there is just about everything that you can imagine there. So I am going to start off posting the engines that I saw that in my opinion were over the top. Can you say chrome and powerful? Enjoy.

Skate Boarder

Well I could not let my pal Rich out do me. He posted some photos on his blog, http://richfiddelke.blogspot.com/ , showing some photos from our Saturday photo walk. He gave me a good idea after we photographed some skate boarders in Seymor park. He said they would make great black and white pics so here is my attempt. Hope you like them.

Cars and Bikes

Last nights car show at the Flashback was huge. Great bunch of cars and some really tricked out bikes. Took three of my grandkids and they had a ball. The people there with their cars and bikes are really nice people. They let my grandkids sit in their cars and on their bikes for pictures. I will just post a couple of pictures here and you can go to http://occ.smugmug.com/Gary-Prill/Cars-and-Parts/18155674_mC4hnh#P-1-12 . Cox Classic Final Day

Worked my little hiney off chasing the potential winners around on Sunday. There were five players in four groups changing places all day. The winner J.J. Killeen finally made two putts from 90 feet for par to clinch the top spot. Great golf tournament. Here are some piics from the last day. Cox Classic third round

The heat and humidity returned for the third round of play at the Cox Classic on Saturday. The players were heating up the course also. At the end of the day the leader, J.J. Kileen was 20 under par. Sunday will be cooler which should let the players get even hotter. Here is some pics. Thanks for stopping by and please visit www.prill.zenfolio.com .
